I work primarily in watercolors and have been focusing on watercolors for about 20 years now.
All of my paintings start with a drawing from my sketchbook. I add realistic elements and/or curvilinear or geometric shapes. Sometimes my paintings take a different direction from my first idea.

Watercolors work for me because of their transparency and the instant gratification I get. Watercolors can be vibrant or soft and they can have textures or smooth gradations of colors. It's a versatile medium. I try to have different layers of color, patterns, shapes and details. I want to show the "everything of my emotions, the energy of life or my own moods. Nature and colors are constant inspirations. I love combining colors so they pop. I also love seeing other artist's works. Striving to combine all these elements into my pieces with something that pleases me is one of my goals.

If you are intersted in buying any prints of my paintings you can order them through ImageKind.

I love color, detail and pattern and have been drawing my "swirly" shapes all my life. To me, they feel sensual or emotional.

Painting and drawing (creating of any kind) grounds me and I'd probably go insane without my art. When I am working on a painting I feel calm, centered and balanced and at the same time energized.

I grew up in San Francisco in the 70's and lived in the Bay Area until the 80's when I moved to the East Bay. In 2000 I moved to Roseville.

Artists have have inspired me are Peter Max, Maxfield Parrish, Alponse Mucha, Wassily Kandinsky,  Rex Ray and Daniel Marriem.

I'm basically a self taught artist but I'm presently a student of the watermedia artist, Patricia Abraham.

Thank you for your interest and for taking the time to visit my site.
